HOUSE OF THE SINGING LADY
Columbia, Missouri

HISTORY:

This house has been researched by quite a few paranormal investigators, as there are at least 4 books that contain information about The House of the Singing Lady. The story says that on some nights, you can hear the sound of a woman singing from the upstairs. After a bit of research, and talking to other paranormal investigators, a music teacher had owned this house, and died in it. Reports indicate that she had died sometime in the late 1800s. Since then, the house has traded hands many, many times. No one ever living there for an extended period of time. In the 1970s, it was sold to a real estate firm in Memphis, who've let it go into disrepair.  In the spring of 2001, the house burned to the ground.

PRESENT STATUS:

The house burned down in the spring of 2001.  The area around the House of the Singing Lady is in extremely poor condition. Anyone wanting to venture there must be careful at all times. It appears that the house may have been used by the local high school students during the day as a place to use drugs as well as a place of several reported date rapes.

JOSH'S THOUGHTS:

I felt like the spirit of the house was constantly out of our reach. Like it was nervous of us. Running from us. The EMF detector spiked 2 times, mostly around the outside of the house. That's where most of the photographs turned up evidence, the outside. We did not hear the sounds of a woman singing on this trip.

DAN'S THOUGHTS:

When I had approached this house a few days earlier with a friend, I got a very wary, negative vibe. I did not enter the house that day, but when Josh and I had gone in to take pictures, I got my shield pinged a few times. I'm amazed I got three shots of activity with only two roles of film. There were a lot of other pictures that were kind of questionable, but I left those off the page due to the fact that they could very easily be something explainable. I've heard stories from locals who've been there about people getting possessed in the house, and speaking in tongues. None of this has been confirmed by Black Hat Paranormal Investigations.
Notice the two orbs in the right-center of the picture.

Close examination of the glowing orb behind the door frame revealed that it was not a doorknob or any other shiny, metallic object.

It appears to be two glowing eyes in the middle of the main doorway. Inspection of the house showed no signs of animal tracks.
